Tracy Moxley appointed Head of School at iCademy Middle East in Dubai

iCademy Middle East, the UAE’s only KHDA-licensed virtual school, has appointed Tracy Moxley as its new Head of School and Principal. The announcement comes as the school celebrates 18 years of delivering high-quality online and hybrid learning to families across the region.

Tracy succeeds Diane Claver, who served as Head of School for 13 years. With this appointment, iCademy reaffirms its commitment to innovation, flexibility, and excellence in virtual education.

A Proven Leader in International Education

Tracy Moxley brings 25 years of international school leadership experience, having held senior roles with GEMS Education and Aldar Academies in the UAE since 2014. Prior to her move to the region, she was Head of an international school in Spain and Director of Education at an online academy in Switzerland.

Her background demonstrates a strong commitment to online learning and its potential to meet the diverse needs of students.

Commenting on her new role, Tracy said:

“I am extremely excited to join iCademy as it celebrates its 18th year. I am passionate about the opportunities and flexibility that online learning offers students, and I look forward to leading the school into a new phase of growth and development.”

iCademy’s Flexible Learning Model

Since 2007, iCademy has built a reputation as the only KHDA-licensed virtual school in the UAE, serving students through a blend of online and in-person learning. Its curriculum is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and delivered through the AMP platform, which combines research-backed curriculum, interactive tools, and personalised eLearning solutions.

Students benefit from:

  • Real-time virtual classrooms.
  • Asynchronous learning opportunities.
  • Detailed feedback from experienced teachers.
  • Access to iCademy’s Knowledge Hub, where they can attend in-person sessions, enrichment classes, and tailored learning interventions.

Families can choose the number of days their children attend, creating a model that mirrors the flexibility increasingly seen in modern workplaces.

The Rise of Hybrid Learning in Dubai

Online and hybrid learning has gained traction since the COVID-19 pandemic, with parents viewing it as a genuine and sustainable schooling choice. A 2023 survey conducted by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) revealed that 32% of private companies already implement remote work policies, with 58% prepared to expand them.

This shift in workplace flexibility has directly influenced the education sector, with more parents recognising the value of flexible schooling options like iCademy.

Tracy Moxley commented on this trend:

“It’s clear that education is adapting to the evolving needs of families, who have benefited from employer’s shift in mindset, with flexible working now a norm in Dubai. I know that iCademy’s Knowledge Hub has proven popular for Dubai families who see the benefit of having a learning hub for their children who can selectively attend, get the benefits of face to face but also choose to work independently online when it suits them. In my opinion, this is the future but also a very real present for us at iCademy.”

Shaping the Future of Education

As the UAE embraces hybrid work and learning models, iCademy Middle East is well-positioned to lead the way. With Tracy Moxley at the helm, the school aims to continue expanding its innovative curriculum, student pathways, and personalised support, ensuring that learners thrive both academically and socially in an evolving educational landscape.
