The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge has launched Midad, a flexible entry-level training programme aimed at preparing aspiring educators to enter classrooms across Abu Dhabi.
The initiative forms part of ADEK’s refreshed teacher talent strategy, designed to raise education standards by expanding and diversifying the pool of teachers in private and charter schools.
Flexible Training for Aspiring Educators
Midad creates an accessible pathway into education, beginning with a four week bootcamp delivered through a flexible, self-paced model. Open to UAE nationals and long-term residents, the programme welcomes individuals from varied backgrounds who can bring real-world perspectives into the classroom.
It also offers an opportunity for parents who wish to play a more active role in their children’s education and development.
Building Essential Teaching Skills
During the bootcamp, participants are introduced to the core principles of effective teaching. These include classroom management, teaching methodologies, understanding diverse student needs, and integrating technology and artificial intelligence into learning.
The programme also places emphasis on strengthening UAE national identity and values within education.
Opportunities for Career Progression
Upon completion, participants can apply their skills in part-time teaching roles while continuing to develop professionally through further pathways and qualifications.
High-performing participants will also be invited to apply to Kon Moallim Cohort 2, ADEK’s flagship initiative that offers a fully sponsored postgraduate diploma in education.
