Horizon Private School, American Branch, has continued its strong record in Advanced Placement (AP) results, achieving five consecutive years of pass rates above both the UAE national average and the global average.
The Khalifa City School, part of the AlephYa Education Group and regulated by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), says its AP programme has consistently outperformed national and international benchmarks since 2022, when College Board comparison data first became available.
For students and parents considering AP pathways, the results highlight a sustained commitment to academic excellence while expanding access to advanced courses.
AP Results Reflect Long-Term Academic Consistency
Rather than relying on a single successful year, Horizon Private School has demonstrated consistent achievement across several challenging AP subjects.
AP Physics C, Mechanics has recorded a 100% pass rate for four consecutive years. Meanwhile, AP Precalculus has achieved a 100% pass rate every year since the subject was introduced. In addition, AP Calculus AB reached a perfect pass rate in three of the past five years.
The school also reported that its Grade 12 students achieved the highest average AP score of any year group for the second consecutive year.
These results suggest that students continue to perform strongly across multiple disciplines while preparing for competitive university admissions.
More Students Choosing Advanced Placement
One of the most significant developments is the growth of the AP programme itself. Over the past five years, the number of Horizon students sitting AP examinations has doubled. Additionally, AP candidates now represent a much larger proportion of the school’s overall student population than they did in 2021.
Maintaining high pass rates while expanding participation is often considered a key indicator of a well-established academic programme.
“The program has grown to reach more learners, and the standard has held across that growth,” the school said in a statement.
For families, this reflects increasing opportunities for students to experience university-level learning before graduation.
Students Earn College Board Recognition
The school’s achievements extend beyond examination pass rates.
Since 2022, 85 Horizon students have received College Board AP Scholar recognition, averaging 17 recipients each year.
Notably, the Class of 2026 produced 17 AP Scholars across all three award categories, including AP Scholar, AP Scholar with Honor, and AP Scholar with Distinction.
These awards recognise students who consistently perform well across multiple AP subjects and can strengthen university applications in many countries.
Why AP Results Matter For Students and Parents
Advanced Placement courses allow secondary school students to study university-level content while still in school. Strong AP performance can help students demonstrate academic readiness when applying to universities worldwide. Furthermore, many higher education institutions recognise AP results for admissions consideration and, in some cases, academic credit.
For parents exploring schools with rigorous academic pathways, Horizon Private School’s sustained performance offers another indicator of consistent teaching quality and student support over several years.
