Brighton College Dubai has become the first school in Dubai to be recognised as a Read Write Inc Flagship School by Ruth Miskin Training, marking a significant milestone in early literacy education in the emirate.
Recognition for Excellence in Phonics and Reading
The recognition reflects the school’s consistent and effective delivery of the Read Write Inc programme since opening in 2018. It highlights strong pupil outcomes, a data led approach and high quality, consistent teaching across early years and primary stages.
The flagship status also acknowledges the long term success of embedding the programme over eight years.
Strong Pupil Outcomes and Reading Progress
Brighton College Dubai continues to demonstrate strong reading development among younger pupils. In the latest Phonics Screening Check, 92 per cent of pupils met the expected standard.
More than 75 per cent of children from FS2 to Year 2 are working at or above year group expectations, showing that pupils are not only building solid phonics foundations but are also applying these skills effectively in broader reading.
