Repton Al Barsha is delighted to announce the outstanding achievement of Year 4 pupil Aisha Ahmed, who secured first place at the prestigious Abu Dhabi World Pro Jiu Jitsu Championship 2025. Competing in one of the most demanding youth categories, Aisha demonstrated exceptional skill, determination and composure well beyond her years.
Recognised as one of the most significant events in the global Jiu Jitsu calendar, the World Pro Championship attracts young athletes from around the world to compete at the highest level. The event is known for its rigorous standards and world class officiating, offering a platform for emerging talent to showcase both technical ability and competitive spirit.
Aisha’s Journey from Early Interest to Championship Stage
Aisha began her Jiu Jitsu journey at the age of five, when she and her brother joined Delariva Jiujitsu Abu Dhabi near their home. She now trains five days a week at Studio100 in Dubai, following a disciplined routine built around perseverance and a genuine passion for the sport.
Her commitment has been encouraged by experienced coaches and strengthened through regular exposure to increasingly advanced competition. In the weeks leading up to the championship, Aisha competed in the Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Championship in Abu Dhabi, where she won a gold medal, boosting her confidence ahead of the World Pro. Her preparation included daily training sessions, technical refinement and high level sparring, all contributing to her readiness for a global competition environment.
A Gripping Final and a Decisive Victory
Aisha progressed confidently through three rounds of competition, displaying calm decision making and strong tactical awareness. Her final bout proved to be the most challenging, requiring video assisted refereeing due to its intensity. After initially falling behind on points, Aisha executed a decisive submission technique to secure victory and claim the gold medal. Her family described the moment as “unforgettable”, sharing their pride in her courage and determination under pressure.
A Well-rounded Repton Al Barsha Pupil
Beyond Jiu Jitsu, Aisha is known at Repton Al Barsha for her cheerful and energetic character. She enjoys football, has recently been named captain of the school netball team and shows a keen interest in creative writing. Her achievements have inspired her peers, and her success has been celebrated across the school community.
Aisha’s parent, Ahmed Naseef, expressed his pride, saying:
“Seeing Aisha win was incredibly exciting and emotional for us. She has worked so hard and shown such bravery and determination. Her achievements have given her so much confidence, and we are very proud of the young athlete she is becoming.”
Sharing her excitement, Aisha said:
“If you want to achieve something, focus and never give up”.
Looking ahead, Aisha has shared her ambition to become a Jiu Jitsu coach in the future and hopes to train children free of charge, believing that self defence skills should be accessible to all.
Repton Al Barsha Celebrates her Success
Aisha’s journey continues to be supported by the nurturing environment at Repton Al Barsha, where teachers actively recognise and celebrate student achievements. Her class teacher works closely with her to help balance academic learning alongside her demanding training schedule.
