In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Yas Bay Waterfront and Yas Marina have partnered with Pink Caravan and Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) to provide free clinical screenings and mammograms.
Free Screenings at Yas Bay and Yas Marina
On Sunday, 5th October, the Pink Caravan mobile clinic will be at Yas Bay Waterfront before moving to Yas Marina on Monday, 6th October. Between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, adults aged 20 and above can receive free clinical breast screenings, while those aged 40 and above can access free mammograms.
Why Early Detection Matters
Recent research highlights that breast cancer remains the most common cancer globally, accounting for 15–16% of all new cases among women, with 2.3 million diagnoses annually. While men represent less than 1% (around 20,000 new cases), they are often diagnosed at later stages, making early detection critical.
Support and Guidance from Medical Experts
Medical specialists from FOCP will be on-site to offer guidance, answer questions, and ease concerns. To encourage participation, every attendee will receive a small health memento as a reminder of the importance of regular check-ups. Spaces are limited, so visitors are encouraged to arrive early.
Continuing a Commitment to Health and Awareness
This marks the second consecutive year Yas Marina and Yas Bay Waterfront have collaborated with FOCP to highlight breast cancer awareness and prevention, reaffirming their commitment to supporting the community’s wellbeing.
