Back-to-School Events Showcase Digital Tools

Huawei, in partnership with 51Talk, a leading global online English education platform with more than 40 million learners worldwide, is bringing the future of digital learning in UAE schools to life.

The two organisations have rolled out a series of back-to-school events across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, and Fujairah. So far, the initiative has reached over 900 students, with more events planned throughout September to engage even more families.

The events, held in collaboration with Dubai Municipality, RTA, and Sharjah Government, highlight how digital tools can transform education and prepare students for a technology-driven future.

UAE Leads in Smart Education Innovation

The UAE has long been a pioneer in education innovation. It was among the first countries to introduce a mandatory AI curriculum in public schools, covering every grade from kindergarten to Grade 12. Alongside this, schools are embedding smart-learning platforms into classrooms, demonstrating the country’s commitment to a future-ready education system.

As part of this shift, tablets have become essential tools for students. Their portability and performance make them ideal for lessons, group projects, and interactive apps. In the UAE, tablets are already widely used for digital textbooks and e-learning platforms, supporting a more interactive classroom experience.

Huawei Tablets in Action

The Huawei and 51Talk events gave students hands-on experience with Huawei’s latest learning-friendly devices. Demonstrations included:

  • HUAWEI Notes Resource Centre – for research and study organisation
  • WPS Office Suite – PC-level tools for projects and presentations
  • GoPaint App – a digital creative platform

Students also discovered how tablets can double as entertainment and creativity tools, providing a balance between learning and leisure.

To further meet the needs of young learners, Huawei recently launched the HUAWEI MatePad 11.5, equipped with an eye-friendly PaperMatte Display that mimics paper for easier reading and accurate handwriting. This design supports deep reading, note-taking, and drawing, making it especially useful for student life.

Upcoming Highlights

The program continues with a major event on 15 September under Dubai Municipality, welcoming students from across the UAE. The series will culminate on 20 September with a special recognition event, where one student will be chosen to represent the UAE as a youth speaker at COP30 in Brazil.

By directly engaging with students and parents, Huawei and 51Talk are helping families see the value of digital tools in learning. These initiatives also align with the UAE’s long-term vision of building a knowledge-driven economy powered by innovation and digital literacy.
