Brighton College Al Ain has been crowned overall team champions at the World School Games (WSG) Golf Championship 2025, following three days of outstanding competition on Scotlandโ€™s most historic and prestigious golf courses.

The championship, held from 14โ€“17 September, brought together over 100 golfers from 23 schools across 16 countries, with teams travelling from as far as Malaysia, Trinidad & Tobago, India, and Australia. Brighton College Al Ain shone on iconic courses including Royal Musselburgh, Musselburgh Golf Club, and Fairmont St Andrews, securing the top team prize at the second edition of this global tournament.

Standout Individual Performances

Brighton College Al Ain pupils showcased their skill and determination on the international stage:

  • Summer Langford (Year 9)ย โ€“ 1st place in the Womenโ€™s Junior Stableford
  • Louis Keddie (Year 7)ย โ€“ 3rd place in the Junior Stableford
  • Zachary Hambleton (Year 9)ย โ€“ 6th place in the Junior Stableford
  • Keegan Poisat (Year 9)ย โ€“ Top ten finish in the Junior Strokeplay with a handicap of 2.6

In addition, Director of Sport Allan Keddie impressed in the Teachers category, contributing to the Collegeโ€™s overall success.

Director of Sport Allan Keddie added:

โ€œThis is such a proud moment for myself and all of the staff. The pupils worked incredibly hard, supported one another throughout, and showed real character on some of the toughest courses in golf. Seeing them lift the trophy together was very special and a highlight of my career so far.โ€

Summer Langford (Year 9) reflected:

โ€œTo play on some of the best courses in the world is something I will never forget. Finishing the week with both a team win and an individual victory was the best feeling.โ€

Louis Keddie (Year 7) shared:

โ€œIโ€™m only 11, so this was my first major competition and Iโ€™m so happy it was in my familyโ€™s home country of Scotland. The UAE has been my home for 10 years now and I am proud to bring the trophy back to Brighton College Al Ain.โ€
