The popular ADNOC Yas in Schools national finals have returned for a milestone fifteenth edition, bringing together talented young minds from across the UAE.
Hosted by Yas Marina Circuit and supported by ADNOC, this engineering event highlights the incredible achievements of students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The three-day national finals run from 25 to 27 June. This year, the entire competition takes place online, allowing teams from every emirate to participate easily. For parents and educators, the event offers a wonderful glimpse into how motorsport can inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators.
Ali Al Beshr, General Manager of Yas Marina Circuit said,
“Celebrating 15 years of ADNOC Yas in Schools is a significant milestone for Yas Marina Circuit and for STEM education in the UAE. The programme has inspired thousands of young people by bringing engineering, technology and innovation to life through motorsport, while helping develop the future talent that will shape our nation’s future. We look forward to celebrating another outstanding group of finalists as they showcase their creativity, technical skills and passion for innovation.”
Inspiring STEM Careers Through Motorsport
The ADNOC Yas in Schools national finals provide an exceptional platform for pupils to develop practical skills. It remains the only motorsport-inspired STEM education programme delivered from a Formula 1 circuit in the region. Students spend months designing, building, and testing their projects before reaching this final stage.
During the competition, teams must race their miniature cars and present their entire engineering journey to a panel of expert judges. Furthermore, they need to demonstrate creativity through technical design, branding, and innovation. This comprehensive process helps school leaders and teachers connect classroom learning with real-world industry skills.
New Pathways for Younger Students
Notably, the Formula Ethara pathway has expanded this year to include younger pupils. The introduction of the 3ainawy Cup and the Al Dhafra Cup allows students aged 13 and under from Al Ain and Al Dhafra to participate. Consequently, grassroots teams can now explore engineering and design from an early age.
These specialised grassroots competitions will culminate in dedicated finals on 25 June as part of the wider national finals programme. This expansion shows how UAE schools are successfully nurturing scientific curiosity in younger year groups.
Celebrating Fifteen Years of Innovation
The milestone event reflects the long-term commitment of the UAE education sector to future-focused learning. Over the past fifteen years, the programme has helped thousands of youngsters discover their passion for technology and design.
Ultimately, this competition provides educators and parents with an excellent opportunity to celebrate student dedication to technology and teamwork. For more information, visit Yas In Schools.
