Trusity’s TruPreneurs Programme Honoured with the Best in STEM Award

by Nausheen
Rajani Nalla, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Trusity

Trusity’s flagship programme TruPreneurs has been recognised at the GESS Education Awards as Rising Star Start Up Company of the Year, marking a significant milestone for the organisation’s mission to bring real world skills into everyday school learning.

Founded by Rajani Nalla, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Trusity, the initiative was born from a simple but powerful observation. Students often leave school with strong academic knowledge yet struggle to apply that knowledge in real life situations.

TruPreneurs was designed to bridge that gap, helping students move beyond theory and actively work on real challenges through structured, mentored learning journeys that build confidence and practical capability.

Applied knowledge prepares students for the real world far more effectively than theory alone

In conversation with Rajani, the recognition of TruPreneurs at the GESS Education Awards reflects a growing shift in education towards applied learning, where students are encouraged to move beyond theory and develop real world skills, confidence and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Education UAE: Congratulations on your GESS Award win. What does this recognition mean to you and your organisation?

Rajani Nalla: Thank you. This recognition is deeply meaningful to the entire Trusity team. Winning the GESS Award is a strong validation of the journey we’ve been on for over five years, one rooted in the belief that education must move beyond content delivery to truly prepare young people for the real world through relevant, future-focused and transferable skills training. It affirms our commitment to building future-ready skills in students through innovation, entrepreneurship, digital literacy, financial literacy, and now, AI-driven learning.

Education UAE: Tell us about your winning project/initiative/product. What inspired its creation, and what challenge were you aiming to solve?

Rajani Nalla: Our flagship initiative, TruPreneurs, has emerged as one of our most impactful and sought-after programs among both students and schools. It was created with a clear purpose, to empower young people to move beyond theoretical learning and actively build solutions to real-world problems.

At Trusity, we strongly believe that applied knowledge is power. While knowledge is essential, it is the ability to apply that knowledge, through problem-solving, innovation, and execution, that truly prepares youth for the future. TruPreneurs was inspired by the immense, often untapped potential we see in young minds when they are given the right tools, mentorship, and real-world context. The program enables students to work directly on industry-relevant challenges, encouraging limitless thinking, creativity, and entrepreneurial mindset development. By guiding them through ideation, validation, prototyping, and pitching, TruPreneurs empowers youth to translate ideas into meaningful impact.

Students begin to see themselves not just as learners, but as innovators and problem solvers.

What inspires us every day is witnessing students gain confidence, purpose, and the ability to see themselves not just as learners, but as innovators, problem-solvers, and changemakers capable of shaping a better future.

Education UAE: What makes your approach truly different or innovative? Why do you believe it stood out to the judges this year?

Rajani Nalla: What makes our approach truly different is that TruPreneurs goes beyond teaching entrepreneurship as a concept, it enables students to experience entrepreneurship as a real-world journey. This was evidenced in our submission through the youth startups we launched in 2025 and thousands of students’ data metrics that showcased improvement in competencies such as problem-solving, financial literacy and communication.

At Trusity, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all programs or theoretical exposure. TruPreneurs is built as an applied, outcome-driven ecosystem where students move from identifying real-world problems to building solutions, validating ideas, creating business and financial models, and confidently pitching their ventures. The program is deeply rooted in global frameworks, industry insights, and real market contexts, ensuring learning is both relevant and future ready.

Entrepreneurship education works best when students solve real problems, not hypothetical ones.

What truly sets us apart is our focus on applied learning, measurable outcomes, and inclusivity. Students don’t just learn about entrepreneurship, they develop critical thinking, problem-solving, financial literacy, communication, and leadership skills that are transferable to any career path. Our approach bridges the long-standing gap between academia and industry by enabling students to work on real challenges, receive structured mentorship, and gain exposure to practical decision-making early in life.

TruPreneurs demonstrated not just innovation in design, but impact at scale

I believe this is what resonated with the judges. TruPreneurs demonstrated not just innovation in design, but impact at scale, showing how entrepreneurship education can be embedded meaningfully within schools, empower diverse learners, and create confident, purpose-driven youth ready to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

Education UAE: What impact has your initiative had so far on students, staff, families, or the wider community?

Rajani Nalla: The impact of TruPreneurs has been both measurable and deeply personal. To date, we have upskilled 5,000+ students, supported the development of 1,000+ student-led ideas, and enabled significant improvement across critical future-ready competencies.

Our outcomes speak strongly to the effectiveness of experiential, applied learning:

• 89% competency in robot control and precision navigation
• 84% competency in applying coding to real-world problem scenarios
• 85% competency in understanding career pathways in technology and innovation
• 85% average overall coding competency across cohorts

Beyond technical skills, students reported meaningful growth in confidence and agency:

• 83% feel confident applying their learning to real-world challenges
• 87% reported significant skill improvement
• 88% felt appropriately challenged
• 85% believe the program supports their personal learning goals
• 97% overall student satisfaction rate

Equally powerful has been the ripple effect on families and communities. Parents consistently share their gratitude for seeing their children grow in confidence, purpose, and direction. Many TruPreneurs alumni have gone on to launch startups, raise early funding, and secure admissions to leading institutions such as IIT Delhi, University of Sussex, New York University, The University of Buckingham etc.

What truly matters to us is not just academic success, but the mindset shift we see, students believing in their ability to create, contribute, and drive positive change.

Education UAE: What has been your proudest moment on the journey to achieving this award?

Rajani Nalla: It hasn’t been a single moment, it has been many deeply meaningful ones. Watching students grow in confidence, pitch ideas, and discover their potential remains the most rewarding outcome, supported by feedback from parents and educators who witness this transformation.

Education UAE: What were the biggest challenges you faced in bringing this idea to life, and how did you overcome them?

Rajani Nalla: The primary challenge was shifting mindsets beyond academic grades as sole success indicators. Through research, evidence, and real student success stories, stakeholders began recognising the importance of future-ready skills. This transformation continues as Trusity works to make applied learning mainstream.

Education UAE: How does this win influence your future plans? What can we expect next in 2026?

Rajani Nalla: This recognition strengthens Trusity’s credibility as a skill-tech organisation. In 2026, expansion focuses on TruPreneurs.AI, bridging academia and industry through AI-supported applied learning, enabling youth to build solutions for real challenges.

Education UAE: In your opinion, what is one trend shaping the future of education in the UAE/GCC/Africa?

Rajani Nalla: Artificial Intelligence is reshaping education through personalised learning, improved teacher productivity, and data-driven insights, aligning with national education and AI strategies across the region.

Education UAE: What advice would you give to other educators, leaders, or innovators looking to make a meaningful difference?

Rajani Nalla: Stay adaptable, continuously learn, unlearn outdated methods, and combine empathy with action to prepare future generations effectively.

Education UAE: Anything else you would like to highlight or thank your team/community for?

Rajani Nalla: Gratitude is extended to parents, schools, educators, advisors, mentors, and industry partners whose collaboration supports student success and long-term impact.
