WarnerMedia Kids & Family Rolls Out Cartoonito

by Eddie Rayner

WarnerMedia Kids & Family is rolling out its preschool brand, Cartoonito, in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. The brand, which is being launched as a dedicated programming block across EMEA, offers a modern approach to preschool programming and is built to support each child’s unique potential with its educational framework, Humancentric Learning.

The EMEA roll-out, starting with the Nordics, follows the launch of the Cartoonito brand in the US in September 2021 on Cartoon Network and HBO Max. Key shows will include Thomas & Friends All Engines Go, Lucas the Spider, and Mush, Mush and the Mushables. These will sit alongside a growing slate of new and library series in a line-up that celebrates individuality and originality, while championing creativity, compassion and inclusion.

Fans can view Cartoonito shows on Cartoon Network Arabic from 6:30 am-12:30 am weekdays.

Vanessa Brookman, Senior Vice President, Kids & Family EMEA for WarnerMedia said: “Cartoonito’s roll out across the region reaffirms our commitment to our preschool audience. With a truly educational philosophy at its heart, Cartoonito offers a safe space where preschoolers are free to be themselves in all their unique glory. We are excited to introduce Cartoonito’s diverse, authentic and relatable storytelling to a new generation of kids and their parents.”

Thomas and Friends, Lucas the Spider, Mush, Mush and the Mushables lead a new, modern programming slate

Cartoonito will debut a new look in the EMEA region, alongside a growing slate of new and library series and exciting global acquisitions. All Cartoonito shows follow a curriculum designed by early childhood education expert, Dr Laura Brown to support the four pillars of Humancentric Learning: Creativity, Caring, Curiosity and Courage. The brand aims to inspire kids to use their imagination, learn from their mistakes and treat others with empathy and respect.

For instance, in Lucas the Spider (Fresh TV in association with WexWorks Media with CAKE), the curious jumping spider, Lucas demonstrates kindness and perseverance in his many adventures.

The proprietary preschool educational framework lays a foundation for fun, playful stories that celebrate every child’s uniqueness

Mush-Mush & the Mushables (France’s La Cabane and Belgium’s Thuristar with CAKE), the series follows the endearing Mushable community as they embark on a journey to put the fun back into fun-gi! Teeming with activity, it’s always an adventure in Mushworld as each Mushable gets to know their talents and their limits. As pocket-size guardians of the forest, growing up isn’t always easy, but together each day shines just as bright as the one before.

From Mattel Television, Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go invites preschoolers all aboard and follows the world’s Number One Tank Engine and his friends on their silliest and most musical adventures yet. Produced in vibrant, 2D-animation in partnership with Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana Studio, the show features a core cast of five young engines – Thomas, his best friend Percy, rival Diesel, the adventurous world traveller Nia and an all-new electric high-speed rail train, Kana.
