To encourage high school students in the UAE to address the biggest challenges the world faces today in their local and global communities, Crimson Education has launched a first-of-its-kind joint programme with KidsforSDGs. Entitled Crimson Young Pioneers (CYP), the initiative supports participants aged 13 years and above in identifying, planning, and implementing a social change project under the auspices of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework. The programme builds on both the student’s academic abilities and extracurricular passions to create their own project in the real world.
With a mission to cultivate world leaders and the entrepreneurs of tomorrow, and built on the 17 UN SDGs, this ‘ultra-curricular’ programme has led more than 500 students in 25+ countries to lead their own start-ups, build a global multi-stakeholder network and scale measurable economic and meaningful social impact. Several graduates of the programme have been invited to speak and hold leadership roles at UN Youth Councils and become official UN Youth Ambassadors while unearthing their inner passion and purpose.

“In our increasingly interconnected world, we need to prepare the next generation to be global leaders who can lead and thrive on a global scale. Through this programme, the students engage with the SDGs in practical goals and problem-solving manner by putting issues into relatable contexts. They learn to have an appreciation for cultural differences, see themselves as citizens of the world and take responsibility to enact change,” said Soraya Beheshti, Regional Director at Crimson Education.
