Parents in Dubai are approaching school choice with growing anxiety and caution, according to new research released by Scholars International Group, coinciding with the opening of its newest school, The Scholars School.

The SIG Parent Insight Study 2026, based on responses from 400 Dubai-based parents, reveals a decisive behavioural shift. Families are moving away from marketing promises and towards proof of delivery, personal connection and structural stability when choosing a school. This insight arrives at a pivotal time, as the UAE’s Year of the Family reinforces the central role of education in nurturing confident, grounded and culturally connected children. Aparna Verma, Chairperson of Scholars International Group said,

“This is not a moment for louder voices; it is a moment for deeper listening. Families are making some of the most important decisions of their lives for their children. They are seeking clarity, proven outcomes, visible leadership and the reassurance that comes from consistency. These are the principles we believe truly matter and they are shaping every aspect of how The Scholars School is being built.”

Key Findings from the SIG Parent Insight Study 2026

The study highlights a clear set of priorities shaping parental decision-making across Dubai’s education landscape. Trust is conditional, not assumed. Eighty-eight percent of parents say a lack of track record would discourage them from enrolling in a new school, citing transparency, teaching quality and safeguarding as essential trust drivers. Only 10 percent say they would prioritise innovation over proven history. Parents are overwhelmed by marketing. Ninety-three percent say they felt overwhelmed by the volume of school information available, while 91 percent say exaggerated claims reduced their trust.

Parents are highly value-aware. The average annual school fee sits just under AED 48,000. Within the AED 45,000 to 65,000 fee band, parents define value through academic progress, visible teaching quality, and staff stability and leadership rather than facilities or image.

Technology must support, not replace, human teaching. Eighty-eight percent of parents express concern that technology is becoming too dominant at the expense of human-led teaching and pastoral care. Only 13 percent want personalisation driven solely by AI or digital systems. Cultural identity and belonging matter deeply. Eighty-two percent of parents worry their children could lose touch with their cultural identity at school. Families expect schools to foster belonging, uphold heritage and prepare children for a global future.

British curriculum schools remain a preferred model. Seventy-five percent of parents associate British curriculum schools with a reassuring and structured approach, while 73 percent highlight their focus on fundamentals. Sixty-nine percent believe they offer strong preparation for university pathways, viewing the British model as a balance of tradition and modernity.

Opening The Scholars School

The Scholars School represents the next expression of Scholars International Group’s trusted legacy. With more than 50 years of educational heritage in the UAE, the group brings deep regional understanding, academic credibility and operational stability to every school it opens.

The Scholars School is not a start-up. It is a continuation of a proven model, designed to reassure rather than disrupt. Built on strong academics, experienced leadership and clear communication, the school offers a calm, structured and human-centred learning environment aligned with what parents say matters most. Designed for families seeking a high-quality British education delivered with consistency, care and transparency, The Scholars School positions itself as a response to growing parental fatigue with over-promised narratives.

Kyle Knott, Founding Principal of The Scholars School, added:

“Parents are not looking for promises. They are looking for proof. We’ve built a school where the fundamentals are strong, teaching is visible and children feel safe, seen and supported from the very first day.”

Aligned with the UAE Year of the Family, The Scholars School reflects a national emphasis on nurturing environments where children thrive academically, socially, emotionally and culturally. From safeguarding identity to fostering future-ready skills, the school responds directly to what Dubai families are seeking most: clarity, care and credibility.
