Students across GEMS Education schools have delivered another impressive set of International Baccalaureate results, with a 99% pass rate in the IB Diploma Programme and five students achieving the maximum score of 45 points.
The results matter to families considering an IB education in the UAE, as they highlight both strong academic outcomes and the breadth of support available across GEMS schools. They also reinforce the continued popularity of the International Baccalaureate among students preparing for leading universities around the world.
Outstanding IB Diploma Results Across GEMS Education
A total of 611 students from eight GEMS Education schools completed the IB Diploma Programme (DP) this year, achieving an average score of 35 points alongside an overall pass rate of 99%. These results exceed last year’s published global IB averages of 31 points and an 81% pass rate, demonstrating the consistently high standards achieved by students across the GEMS network.
Notably, five students earned the maximum possible score of 45 points, placing them among the world’s highest-performing IB Diploma candidates.
Dino Varkey, Group Chief Executive Officer at GEMS Education said,
“This has been a standout year for GEMS’ International Baccalaureate students. Our pass rate has risen from 92% to 99%, while our average Diploma score has increased from 34 to 35 points, further reinforcing our position as one of the region’s leading IB providers. Six of our schools have achieved a perfect 100% pass rate. Academic excellence is important, but these results also speak to something deeper. They reflect young people of character, supported by exceptional educators and families who believe in the power of education to unlock possibility. Congratulations to our entire community on another remarkable year.”
What These Results Mean For UAE Families
For parents exploring different post-16 pathways, the International Baccalaureate remains one of the world’s most respected academic qualifications. It is recognised by universities globally for its academic rigour, independent learning and emphasis on critical thinking.

Furthermore, the strong results achieved across GEMS schools reflect sustained investment in experienced teachers, personalised support and learning environments that encourage students to excel both academically and personally.
Lisa Crausby OBE, Group Chief Education Officer at GEMS Education said,
“Exceptional academic outcomes do not happen by chance. They reflect the hard work of our students, the expertise of our teachers, the high expectations that underpin excellence across our schools and the strong partnership with families that enables every learner to achieve their very best. The International Baccalaureate is one of the world’s most rigorous academic pathways, and we are immensely proud of how our students have risen to the challenge.”
100% Success in the IB Career-Related Programme
In addition to the Diploma Programme, 78 students across three GEMS schools completed the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (CP). All students passed, giving the programme a 100% pass rate.
The Career-related Programme combines academic study with practical, career-focused learning, helping students develop workplace skills while preparing for university and future employment. As a result, it continues to appeal to learners seeking both academic and vocational pathways.

Beyond examination success, GEMS continues to position the International Baccalaureate as a pathway that combines academic challenge with leadership opportunities, innovation, service learning and personal development.
