The winners of the inaugural ADEK Awards have been crowned in a celebratory ceremony that was attended by the school principals, teachers, and students across Abu Dhabi schools. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, the ADEK Awards recognises the outstanding achievements of people, schools, and initiatives across the emirates’ education ecosystem.
In its first edition, ADEK Awards drew over 300 submissions across 11 individual and school-level categories from public, private, and charter schools in the emirate. Each submission was assessed by 35 expert judges against a comprehensive assessment and scoring criteria for each award.

ADEK Award Winners
Individual Awards five winners won the Individual ADEK Awards. The winner in each category won a prize of AED 50,000.
- Principal of the Year Award: Salama Khalfan Obaid Al Mazrouei, Qatr Al Nada High School
Outstanding Teacher Award
- Early Years & Primary Teacher: Mariam Mohammed Jumma Al Jaberi – Mubarak Bin Mohammed School
- Secondary Teacher: Sadiq Amin Khan – Islamiya English School
- Arabic Literacy & Culture Teacher: Hanan Fathy Salim – Yasmina British Academy
Unsung Hero: Amal Al Shriti – Liwa International School, Falaj Hazaa.

The schools’ awards recognised 23 winners, with winning schools receiving various prizes that are dedicated to improving the winning schools’ initiatives.

- Best Professional Development Programmes (AED 150,000): Liwa International School for Girls
- Best Reading Programme (AED 150,000): Abu Dhabi International Private School, Mbz

- Best Parental Engagement (AED 100,000): Al Ain Juniors School

Standardised Benchmark Assessment: 16 schools won in this category for their attainment and progress in Standardized Benchmark Assessments. Each school picked up AED 125,000.
