The second edition of the Fujairah Children’s Book Fair concluded on Sunday evening, affirming its status as a major cultural and educational event. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the fair took place at the Dibba Exhibition Centre from 26 October to 2 November 2025.
The event brought together 52 local and international publishing houses and welcomed more than 11,000 visitors, including students, families, and reading enthusiasts from across Fujairah and the wider UAE.
Strong Leadership and Vision
H.E. Dr Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah and Chairman of the Organising Committee, celebrated the fair’s success and expressed gratitude for the continuous support and generous patronage of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah.
H.E. Dr Al Zeyoudi said:
“The Fujairah Children’s Book Fair demonstrated the emirate’s focus on early childhood. It nurtured a love of reading and a sense of cultural values. This year’s strong participation from publishers and creative talents highlighted Fujairah’s growing national cultural presence.”
Connecting Authors, Families, and Education
H.E. Nasser Mohammed Al Yammahi, Executive Director of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority and Deputy Chairman of the Organising Committee, underlined the fair’s role in linking authors, educational institutions, and families. He noted that the impressive attendance reflected the community’s belief in reading and knowledge as key drivers of development.
He added,
“The enthusiastic participation of students and families reinforced confidence. This ensured the continuation of this event as an annual platform dedicated to children’s culture, combining fun, learning, and creativity.”

Workshops Inspiring Creativity and Ethics
The closing day featured a variety of creative and reading workshops that encouraged imagination and cognitive development. In the workshop titled Ethics in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, trainer Basmah Freihat highlighted the importance of teaching children the ethical and responsible use of AI technologies. She explained that AI should act as a learning aid, not a provider of ready-made answers, and cautioned that overreliance on AI can limit creative thinking. She emphasised using AI for societal benefit and charitable causes.
Author Anwar Al Salami led a storytelling workshop titled Al Kajouja and Umm Al-Duwais at the Dar Al Muheet pavilion. The tale, inspired by Emirati folklore, taught moral values and warned against harmful behaviours. Another workshop, Flowers of the Emirates: Beauty and Heritage, introduced children to native plants and the beauty of the local environment.
The programme also included interactive colouring activities, storytelling sessions, and The Lost Book competition, which fostered research, creativity, and critical thinking through engaging, educational activities.
Community Praise and Future Vision
The Fujairah Children’s Book Fair received wide coverage from local and regional media, highlighting its role in promoting reading among younger generations through educational and entertaining content.
Visitors praised the event’s excellent organisation and variety of activities that inspired children’s creativity and imagination. Parents and teachers noted that the fair instilled positive values and reinforced national identity. The organisers’ choice of Dibba as the host city ensured accessibility for visitors from across the emirate.
The event concluded with cultural performances and appreciation awards, celebrating participants and contributors. Organisers announced plans for more inclusive and innovative editions in the future, further strengthening Fujairah’s position as a leading cultural destination and a nurturing hub for creativity, childhood, and reading.
