The Emirates Group scholarship programme, developed in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, aims to prepare Emirati students for future-focused careers aligned with the UAE’s national priorities. By combining academic excellence with practical industry experience, the initiative ensures that young Emiratis are equipped for meaningful, long-term contributions to the country’s economy.

Strategic Partnership to Shape the Next Generation of Emirati Talent

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, and His Excellency Dr Abdulrahman Al Awar, Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research signed this landmark initiative which reflects a shared commitment to building a robust, future-ready national workforce.

How the Scholarship Programme Works

The Ministry of Higher Education will annually allocate scholarships in coordination with the Emirates Group. Together, they will:

  • Identify suitable study destinations and academic majors
  • Define student selection criteria
  • Oversee the application process and final candidate approvals

Throughout their studies, students will be employed part-time by the Emirates Group and receive continuous professional development. Upon graduation, they will transition into full-time roles within the organisation that match their academic and professional experience.

Investing in Human Capital for a Knowledge-Based Economy

The Emirates Group scholarship programme ensures that graduates are not only well-educated but also job-ready. The Group will provide:

  • Mentorship and structured training
  • Career planning and skills development
  • Performance incentives for high-achieving students

The Emirates Group will continue to monitor student progress during the scholarship period. This will ensure their educational journey remains aligned with the evolving demands of the UAE job market.

MoHESR will collect data and feedback from each cohort to refine the programme and improve outcomes for future students.

A National Model for Education-Industry Collaboration

This partnership between the Ministry of Higher Education and the Emirates Group offers a powerful model for aligning education with economic development. Undeniably, by investing in young Emiratis through the Emirates Group scholarship programme, the UAE is building a sustainable, skilled workforce that is ready to lead in key sectors—today and in the future.
