Brighton College Mathematics Programme Breaks Records in the UAE

Brighton College Dubai and Brighton College Abu Dhabi are transforming the landscape of advanced mathematics education in the UAE. In the 2024–25 academic year, more than 20% of Year 11 students across both campuses completed their GCSEs early—an achievement that underscores Brighton College’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence.

Brighton College mathematics success stories are making headlines. At Brighton College Dubai, 23.5% of Year 11 students completed their GCSEs early. Among them, Ibrahim Chatha stands out as a prodigy. He achieved a Grade 9 in IGCSE Mathematics by Year 8 and Grade 9 in Further Pure Mathematics by Year 9. He then completed A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics by Year 11—earning top scores of A* A* and raw marks of 594/600 and 571/600, respectively.

Another standout, Rudayna Yassin, achieved a perfect score of 200/200 in GCSE Further Pure Mathematics, the highest globally. She is on track to attain A* grades in both A-Level Maths and Further Maths.

Meanwhile, Year 9 student Hassan Lakhani earned a Grade 9 in IGCSE Further Pure Mathematics with 191/200 and is on track to complete six A-Level modules by Year 10.

BCD’s students also outperformed Dubai private school averages in the TIMSS 2023 Mathematics assessment, reinforcing the strength of its academic foundation.

Empowering Future Mathematicians: Brighton College Abu Dhabi

Brighton College mathematics acceleration is also evident in Abu Dhabi. Since launching its early advancement programme in 2016, Brighton College Abu Dhabi has seen remarkable results. In 2024, 21% of Year 11 students sat for GCSE Mathematics early, while 25% of Year 9 students are currently doing the same.

Two standout students, Woojin Lee and Juwon Kang, earned Grade 9s in IGCSE Mathematics in Year 9. They have since progressed to Further Maths and GCSE Statistics. With 23% of pupils securing Grade 9s in 2024, and 50% achieving Grade 9s in Further Maths, Brighton College Abu Dhabi consistently surpasses international benchmarks.
