“We are honoured to have participated in COY18, a dedicated platform empowering young voices to influence global climate policies and promoting universal accessibility”

Alef Education attended the opening ceremony of COY18, where the conference was officially unfolded in the presence of prominent figures such as HE Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Almheiri, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and HE Reem Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation. During the inaugural ceremony, distinguished leaders emphasised the pivotal role of the community in nurturing environmental stewardship and empowering the younger generation with the necessary knowledge and skills to address the complex challenges of climate change on a global scale.

As part of the company’s engagement at COY18, Dr. Tina Kapp, Head of Learning at Alef Education, hosted a special session titled, ‘Inspiring and Involving Youth in Climate Education.’ Dr. Kapp led an insightful discussion on strategies for engaging young learners in community action, both within school premises and in broader community settings. The session emphasised specific tools aimed at enhancing youth engagement and empowering them to take concrete actions for meaningful climate initiatives in both blended and face-to-face learning environments.

Geoffrey Alphonso, CEO of Alef Education, said: “We are honoured to have participated in COY18, a dedicated platform empowering young voices to influence global climate policies and promoting universal accessibility. Alef Education has always been a pioneer in education technology, and our active participation at COY18 reassures our goal to provide effective learning solutions to students worldwide beyond merely curriculum-based content. We strongly believe that every student should have access to educational climate change and action knowledge through various learning solutions, such as Alef Education’s climate change metaverse.”
