by Eddie Rayner

The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has announced scholarships for outstanding Emirati students to attend one of 150 top universities throughout the world. The students can be offered 56 unique and niche majors across 10 fields.

Abu Dhabi Scholarships is a programme that allows exceptional Emirati students to specialise in priority fields that will satisfy Abu Dhabi’s future labour demands. “A host of unique features and benefits enables Abu Dhabi Scholarships to offer a personal academic journey to distinguished Emirati students who are awarded a scholarship to study at one of the leading global universities,” ADEK said on Twitter.

This unique programme, designed for exceptional Emirati Grade 12/Year 13 students and university undergraduates aged 24 and under, provides qualifying students with a holistic and seamless transition from school to work.

It provides direct access to dedicated advisors and programme specialists who will assist students throughout their educational journey. It also offers access to exclusive internship and training programmes in the UAE and abroad, specialised workshops and one-on-one sessions to prepare students for key milestones in their transitional journey. In addition, there is assistance in post-graduation career placement and networking opportunities with SDS Alumni members.

Registration, psychometric tests, interviews, announcing the names of those accepted, and orientation sessions for scholarship recipients before they enrol in universities to continue their courses, are the five phases of the programme.
