On 6th November 2025, BC Academy International School transformed into a vibrant cultural hub as it proudly hosted Threads of Time: Contemporary Echoes of UAE Heritage, an extraordinary art exhibition celebrating the nation’s artistic spirit through the perspectives of its artists, students, and wider community.
From captivating artworks to interactive experiences, the event immersed visitors in a dynamic exploration of heritage, sustainability, and creative expression. It was a day where art met culture and inspiration met opportunity.

Learning Beyond the Classroom
Reflecting the school’s belief in experiential learning, students actively engaged with the exhibition. They met the artists, learned about their creative processes, and gained a deeper appreciation of how tradition continues to shape modern art and design.
The exhibition showcased remarkable works by renowned artists including Azza Al Qubaisi, Khalid Al Astad, Mariam Al Zarooni, Noura Ali Ramahi, Mohamed Alsuwaidi, Sami Al Kour, Ghaleb Hawila, and Tala Atrouni, each offering a distinctive interpretation of heritage, identity, and innovation.

Inspiring Dialogue Through Art
A highlight of the event was a panel discussion where students engaged the artists in meaningful conversations about creativity, inspiration, and purpose. This interactive dialogue reflected how art can serve as a bridge between generations and communities.
Azza Al Qubaisi, known as “the first Emirati jeweller,” praised the initiative, saying:
“An exhibition within a school is a very interesting concept. Having artists from different fields showcasing their work for students to experience over time opens up opportunities for them to see art as a career and appreciate their own creativity in the process. I think it’s a fantastic programme, great talks and I hope more of this happens in other schools as well.”
Echoing her sentiment, Khalid Al Astad added:
“BC Academy has set a new benchmark for schools by creating such engaging events. It’s not only about classroom art sessions but also about connecting with the community. Exhibitions like this are important for students to gain insight into the art and cultural movement of the Emirates.”
Honouring UAE Heritage Through Art
Threads of Time was BC Academy’s heartfelt tribute to the UAE, honouring its culture, creativity, and timeless heritage that continue to inspire generations. More than an exhibition, it was a celebration of imagination, identity, and inspiration.
This event once again reflected BC Academy’s commitment to nurturing creativity, cultural appreciation, and real-world learning opportunities that empower students to dream, discover, and achieve.
