Dubai Municipality proudly invites students to become real “Food Heroes” through the School Food Hero Competition. This is your chance to show how school canteens can be healthier, safer, and more sustainable, whether by sharing true stories of improvements in your school or by imagining your dream canteen of the future.
This initiative is not only about great ideas, but also about inspiring healthier choices, safer food, and a better future for your classmates and community. By joining, students become part of a city-wide effort to make school food smarter, safer, and more inspiring.
Winning entries will be honoured at the prestigious Dubai International Food Safety Conference 2025, standing alongside experts, educators, and leaders shaping the future of food in Dubai.

Theme
“Transforming School Canteens: Real Stories or Bold Visions for Healthy Eating”
Students may choose one of two directions:
- My School’s Healthy, Safe and Sustainable Canteen – Tell the story of how your school improved its canteen.
- My Dream Healthy, Safe and Sustainable Canteen – Share your creative vision of an ideal canteen for the future.
Who Can Join
Open to students from Grade 6 to Grade 12 in Dubai schools.
Steps to Participate
Step 1 – Register
Register through the official link or QR code.
Step 2 – Submit
- Posters: Upload to the MySchoolFood homepage via the competition link.
- Videos: Upload to YouTube, then submit the link via the same competition portal.
Step 3 – Deadline
Submit entries by 3 November 2025.
Step 4 – Coordinator
A designated school coordinator will support students throughout the submission process.
Submission Formats
Video
- Length: 3–5 minutes (including introduction, main content, and conclusion)
- Include up to five visual elements (clips, drawings, slides, or animations)
- Narration: English with Arabic subtitles or Arabic with English subtitles
- Format: MP4 or MOV, maximum 100 MB
- Ensure visuals and audio are clear
Poster
- Size: A3 or A2 (digital or scanned hand-drawn artwork)
- Clearly illustrate the theme of a healthy, safe, and sustainable canteen
- May include drawings, infographics, or slogans
- Format: PDF, JPEG, or PNG, maximum 10 MB
Awards
Winners will be recognised at the Dubai International Food Safety Conference 2025.
Winning entries will also be showcased on Dubai Municipality’s MySchoolFood website.
Prizes include trophies, certificates, and exciting rewards to inspire continued excellence.
