Twenty 71 Elementary School Set for Launch in Nad Al Sheba

by Eddie Rayner

Nad Al Sheba is set to benefit from a future focused community school, offering the California State Standards, and exceptional school leadership.

Twenty 71 School will offer a holistic education to students from Pre-K to Grade 5, by utilising digital skills that will promote intellectual curiosity, social and emotional development and innovation between learners. Coding, robotics and simulations will form a key part of how learning is delivered, which is designed to expose them to the skills needed to succeed in the 21st Century in a post-Covid-19 era.

A key focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) will provide students with a rounded curriculum, supported by the rigour and structure of the Californian Common Core Standards. STEM curriculum blends these subjects in order to teach ‘21st-century skills’ and the tools students need to have if they wish to succeed in the workplace of the future.  It is an interdisciplinary approach to learning, where academic concepts are coupled with real-world lessons and links.

Twenty 71 Elementary School will offer parents a future focussed education with fees starting at AED 25,000 for founding parents

The curriculum is bolstered with the inclusion of Arabic and Islamic Studies, celebrating and understanding Islamic values and encouraging awareness of Emirati and world cultures. The STEM focus enables students to learn important mindsets, skills, and projects that will foster innovation within the curriculum. STEM jobs are expected to continue to grow at a faster rate than others in the coming decade. STEM-related industries are a major economic component of Dubai’s economy.

Enrichment activities will also play a key role in daily life at Twenty 71 Elementary School. Activities will include community service, mathematics, coding, robotics, and a range of sports such as swimming and soccer.

Commenting about the launch of the school, Founding Principal, Dr Terry Burwell stated: “With all of the changes that have happened in the last 15 months, this is a fantastic opportunity to re-imagine education, and to build something truly unique that parents and students really want. More than ever, skills for the future workplace are critical, as well as mental wellbeing, and leading a balance and healthy lifestyle. At Twenty 71, children will think creatively by generating and exploring ideas, making original connections. We’ll work with them to find imaginative solutions and outcomes that are of value. I look forward to welcoming parents from Nad Al Sheba to join us in building something truly special!”

Facilities in the school include virtual reality, augmented reality, hydroponic and bio-domes to encourage eco-literacy, and awareness of the importance of sustainability.

The KHDA approved fees for Pre-K will start at AED 34,000 and will increase to AED 37,500 in Grade 5. Founding parents who register before 31st August can benefit from a 25% discount with fees starting at AED 25,000. Admissions are now open for Twenty 71 School, with limited seats available to ensure full safety precautions are in place. Scholarships are available for Emirati students.
