The Arbor School Hosts First Winter Harvest Fayre

by Eddie Rayner

Dubai ecological school opens biodomes and grounds to the public for family-friendly festive event featuring winter wonderland, Santa Claus, and homegrown organic fruits and vegetables.

The Arbor School welcomed hundreds of visitors to its first-ever Winter Harvest Fayre on 10 December 2019, which proved to be a huge success and showcased the school’s delicious homegrown produce, along with a star appearance from Santa Claus and heaps of festive fun for all the family to enjoy.

Taking place on the grounds of the school and within the school’s unique biodomes, families celebrated the process of harvesting and the ‘farm to fork’ concept, an integral element of Arbor students’ learning and understanding of the ecological processes involved within food production.

Visitors to the Fayre were able to buy delicious local organic fruit and vegetables on-site that had been grown by the students in partnership with Emirates Bio Farm, as well as shop at traditional market stalls, devour mouth-watering festive favourites at food trucks and stalls, and enjoyed memorable performances by the choir and students of Arbor.

One of the Arbor School’s climate-controlled biodomes was transformed into a magical winter wonderland, where excitable children lined up to revel in festive fun and were lucky enough to meet the big man in red himself!

The Arbor School is located in Al Furjan and all funds raised from the event will go to carefully selected causes that support the ethos and vision of the Arbor School.
