The Branch Campus will open in September 2020 and cater for up to 3,000 new students
Raha International School, part of the Taaleem group of schools, held a ground-breaking ceremony on Monday, celebrating the start of construction of its new Branch Campus, Raha International School, Khalifa City Campus.
The new Branch Campus, opening in September 2020 will cater for up to 3,000 K-12 students. It is located in Khalifa City, near to the current Raha Gardens Campus and has been designed by CPG Architects from Singapore that have built award-winning educational facilities globally, with sustainability as a key driver in the design.
The new campus will be built by Al Hikma Building Contracting (HBC) that previously built the Raha Arts Centre, Dubai British School Jumeirah Park, Uptown School and Dubai British Foundation.

The new campus is being built to satisfy the exceptionally high demand for places at Raha International School, which is the only school in Abu Dhabi to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programs for students aged from 4 – 18 years.
Facilities
The state-of-the-art campus will include outstanding sporting facilities that will be used by all Raha students, including an 8 lane 25-metre training pool, a double size gym with indoor running track and three football pitches. There will be a separate Early Years Centre with emphasis on safe, innovative and integrated outdoor learning spaces. Students from both campuses will benefit from these new, world-class facilities. The original school will continue to focus on the ‘Arts’ while the new campus will offer a centre of ‘Sporting Excellence’ to complement the sports activities in both school campuses.
“Raha, established in 2006, was the first school in Abu Dhabi to attain full authorisation by the International Baccalaureate (IB) for all three programmes: PYP, MYP and DP. The most recent ADEK inspection rated RIS, again, as ‘Outstanding’, the first K-12 school in the city to achieve this recognition twice. The school’s reputation has been built on the solid foundation of a true and trusting partnership with our community, who have seen our reputation grow not only within the UAE but globally. Our students now expect to be offered places at the best universities and colleges around the world.” Iain Colledge, Principal at Raha International School
“The quality of a school never exceeds the quality of its teachers. We believe by offering new facilities to compare with the best globally, the school, in a highly competitive market, will be able to attract the very highest quality teaching talent.” Norm Dean, Chief Education Officer, Taaleem
