Pearson Middle East Expands Portfolio with Three New Blended Courses

Pearson Middle East, the world’s leading learning company has introduced three new courses to address the demand for skilled professionals in the UAE. Powered by a cutting-edge curriculum, offering International certification, and ensuring the highest degree of practical relevance through a blended learning journey, these new courses will provide relevant training to support the development of digital and specialised technical skills to build UAE’s future workforce.

The new courses introduced by Pearson were designed in collaboration with several globally renowned universities, providing vendor-specific certifications to learners once completed. These courses include ‘Introduction to Corporate Finance’, ‘Embracing the Digital World: Social Media Marketing’,and ‘Extended Digital Marketing Programme’.

According to the 2020 Robert Walters Employer Sentiment & Hiring Survey, 41% of employers expect a technical skills shortage in the region as the need increases for local talent with relevant industry experience. Moreover, a study conducted by Bullhorn states 64% of recruiters reported a shortage of skilled candidates for available marketing roles.

Majid Mneymneh, Vice President Higher Education and Corporate at Pearson Middle East, commented: “As we slowly enter the recovery phase of Covid-19, it is important for our workforce to become more agile and resilient. With reports indicating the need for more skilled professionals with digitalisation or technical skills, we have introduced three new courses that will provide employers with the option to upskill existing staff. The certifications will also equip fresh graduates with career-focused skills, helping them secure front-line roles while tackling the skills shortages in this area.”

Full details on each of the new courses are provided below:

  • Introduction to Corporate Finance – Developed in partnership with Columbia Business, this course provides students with a Columbia Business School Certificate and Pearson Digital Badge. Students will gain an understanding of the time-honoured financial concepts and rules and how these can be applied to value firms, bonds, and stocks. The course is taught by a world-class instructor, actively training the next generation of market leaders on Wall Street. Workshop instructors have vast experience in the GCC region, helping business consultants and entities all over the Gulf to better shape their financial strategy. Classes start – 22 March 2021. Programme duration – 6 weeks. Delivery format -blended learning.
  • Embracing the Digital World: Social Media Marketing Certification– Developed in collaboration with Oxford College of Marketing, this course will equip students with all the necessary skills to successfully launch a social media marketing strategy for a business. Participants will uncover the essentials of a successful social media presence where they will understand the power of social media networks and how organisations can utilise them to effectively build and engage with their audiences. It will help to build their knowledge on developing a suitable social media strategy and relevant content as well as how to measure social media ROI. On completion of this course, students will receive an Oxford Peg Certification and CPD hours. Classes start – 16 April 2021. Course duration – 3 weeks. Delivery format – live webinars.
  • Extended Digital Marketing Program – Developed in collaboration with The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), this course will help students master all the tips and tricks of an effective digital marketing strategy, and will learn basics within social media and email marketing as well as SEO, SEM, content marketing, and implementing campaigns with high ROI. Participants will learn how to implement best practices for creating, measuring, and optimising digital marketing campaigns, understand the website optimisation tactics to improve conversions rates and much more. This course provides students with a CIM Certificate and Pearson Digital Badge on completion. Classes start – 26 April 2021. Programme duration – 6 weeks. Delivery format – blended learning.
