Here are the leaders in education taking on new roles across UAE schools in the academic year 2019/2020.

Dr Neil Hopkin
Principal

During his 25 years of educational experience, Dr Hopkin has held various leadership roles across schools in the UK, Canada, Australia, USA, Singapore, and China. He has a Bachelors of Theology (Honours) from the University of Nottingham, a PGCE in Mathematics from Brunel University, and a Masters and PhD in Education from King’s College, London. Dr Hopkin has been given an ambitious mandate to develop Sunmarke into one of the leading schools in the Middle East and Asia.

Global Indian International School, Dubai

Ms Alka Yadav
Head of Primary

A former Senior Leader and Head of Primary Section at an international school in Dubai, Ms Alka begins work this new academic year backed with a sea of experience in senior leadership positions across Dubai. She has a consistent and proven track record of leading the performance of students, as well as the school overall, to new heights.

Al Yasmina Academy – Aldar Academies

Mr Jared Nolan
Principal

Mr Jared Nolan started his early career in law enforcement, specialising in safeguarding and serious crime and being rewarded for his work with a special Commendation for his ‘professionalism and dedication to duty’. He holds a Bachelor of Science in ‘Psychology’, a Master’s degree in ‘Leadership & Management (Education)’ and passed the UK based NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headteachers) before qualifying as a School Inspector. Mr Nolan joins Al Yasmina Academy from Shanghai, China with a record of having consistently built on his reputation as a school leader.

Ms Sarah Weaver
Principal

Ms Sarah Weaver brings to Al Mamoura over 16 years of leadership experience at both local and international levels. In her seventh year in the UAE, Sarah has led in both an Outstanding school and one of the most improved schools within her educational groups network. Prior to her work in Dubai and Abu Dhabi she was a Deputy Head Teacher in East London for over ten years, supporting the school to be the 4th most improved school in the United Kingdom.

Mr Emmanuel Gauthier
Head of Primary

Mr Emmanuel Gauthier has previously worked in 5 different continents teaching Modern Foreign Languages for 17 years and being an active promoter of multilingualism. Mr Gauthier is currently the Deputy Head of Prep School at Brighton College Abu Dhabi and has previously served as a Director of Studies and a Head of French.

Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai

Ms Elise Furr
Head of Secondary

Secondary School will be led by Ms Elise Furr, who moved to Dubai to pursue her love for languages. She is passionate about ensuring positive emotions, to promote self-belief and a “can do attitude”. Ms Furr is currently Deputy Principal at Deira International School in Dubai and has previously served as an Assistant Principal (Academic) as well as Head of Department (Modern Languages).
