Digitization is probably the most widely discussed but least understood business topic around today. So, what does digitisation look and feel like? ‘Get Future-Ready: Introducing Data Science’, a webinar presented by Fahd Maqba, Emirates Group Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Lead, will clear up many common misconceptions and provide you with strategies to move forwards.
Organised by Pearson Professional, this groundbreaking webinar will cover essential data analytics concepts, while also demonstrating some hands-on problems using descriptive and inferential analysis methods to depict the lifecycle of data analysis from start to finish.
The Business of the Future
As the world goes digital, the amount of data we produce is increasing exponentially; currently in the region of 2.5 quintillion bytes every day. Therefore, it is little surprise that approximately 35% of organisations say they anticipate having the most difficulty finding people with the appropriate skillsets for data science roles.
For four years in a row, ‘data scientist’ has been named the number one job in the US by Glassdoor, while data from QuantHub indicates a shortage of 250,000 data science professionals in 2020. Furthermore, in its global CIO survey, Statistica noted that amidst the famed IT skills shortage, specialists with big data and analytic talent were in the shortest supply. 44% of CIOs reported that they struggled to identify and recruit specialists in this area, compared to just 39% for cybersecurity, 34% for security and resilience, and 31% for business analysis specialists.
Skills gaps are affecting industries around the world, and the Middle East and Africa are no exception. The UAE has already taken significant steps to equip its younger generation with the skills required to face future challenges and achieve the core goals of its Vision 2021 and Centennial 2071. There is also no doubt that increasing the data literacy of existing workforces is the best way to continue to challenge the skills gap.
So, if you’re looking to get on board with the business of the future, there is no better time than now. ‘Get Future-Ready: Introducing Data Science’ is a webinar designed with you in mind!
