International Community Schools (ICS) is celebrating a proud milestone as two of its students represented the UAE at the Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour Scholarship programme in Huntsville, Alabama, USA.
Hamdan Alshehhi from ICS Mushrif and Mohammad Alali from ICS Al Danah successfully showcased their skills on an international stage. Their achievement highlights both ICS’s commitment to global learning and the UAE’s growing presence in science and technology.
Pride for ICS and the UAE
Rasha Abou Arkoub, Physics Teacher, Innovation Coordinator, and Head of Gifted & Talented at ICS Mushrif, expressed her joy at the achievement.
“As the chaperone of the first team that represented the UAE at Space Camp in 2022, I am incredibly proud to witness two of our students from ICS Abu Dhabi achieve this milestone in 2025. Their success is a true reflection of the innovation, passion, and excellence we aim to cultivate in every learner.”
Training for Future Leaders
As part of the scholarship programme, the students engaged in intensive training that combined space science, teamwork, and leadership. The experience not only enhanced their academic knowledge but also developed essential life skills.

Adding to the celebrations, Hamdan Alshehhi received the “Best Member of Abu Dhabi Team” award. The award recognised his discipline, commitment, and outstanding performance throughout the programme.
