by Eddie Rayner

Google and Alef Education will explore opportunities to certify and train teacher development coaches.

Alef Education, the global K-12 educational technology company, has joined with Google for Education in a strategic technology partnership as the first content developer in the Middle East to hold ‘premium level’ partnership in the Google for Education Partner Program.

Today, more than 30,000 students in schools are using Google Chromebooks powered by the Alef platform across the UAE.

Alef’s platform integrated with G Suite for Education will add value to the learning ecosystem, which includes students, teachers, and school principals by leveraging Google’s collaboration tools as well as the Alef learner centric offering.

The framework for collaboration between Google and Alef Education was set out in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and focuses on three key areas:

  • Google and Alef Education will explore opportunities to certify and train teacher development coaches
  • Both parties will explore ways to align product and technology offerings to enhance the classroom experience for learners and educators
  • Alef Education and Google will also explore ways to build programmes that will drive digital efficacy for ministries, schools, and the entire learned ecosystem

Commenting on the signing, Geoffrey Alphonso, CEO Alef Education said: “We are excited to announce our strategic partnership with Google for Education today. This partnership is a testament to Alef Education’s vision to be a major player in transforming the digital education space on a global level. Being the first premiere regional education partner will bring tremendous benefits to our organization and we are very excited for what the future holds in combining our efforts to make an impact for the entire learner ecosystem.

“Since our inception in 2015, Alef Education has set its vision to transform the digital education space using artificial intelligence and by creating a holistic and integrated learning platform. Alef Education’s first implementation started with the use of Google Chromebooks”, added Mr Alphonso.

“We’re excited to be working with Alef Education in United Arab Emirates and look forward to bringing proven technology solutions to improve the learning experience for students locally and globally,” said John Vamvakitis, International Director for Google for Education.
