Aldar Education’s Al Yasmina Academy has been awarded the highest level of academic praise after being rated ‘Outstanding’ in every area of its educational provision, following an inspection by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK).

The inspection report indicated that in every one of ADEK’s six performance standards – Students’ Achievement; Students’ Personal and Social Development and their Innovation Skills; Teaching and Assessment, Curriculum; Protection, Care, Guidance and Support of Students; and Leadership and Management – Al Yasmina Academy was graded ‘Outstanding.’

ADEK inspectors ranked the overall performance of the school as ‘Outstanding’, particularly highlighting that the Academy had “demonstrated improvements in all key areas of provision”.

Al Yasmina Academy first opened in 2008 and caters to some 2,000 students.

Inspectors also commented that “students’ achievement is ‘Outstanding’ overall”, driven by “comprehensive and rigorous teaching and assessment strategies”.

Sahar Cooper, CEO of Aldar Education, said the latest inspection results show that Al Yasmina Academy is reaping the rewards of investments made in staff development, resources and a dedication to life-long learning.

“We are incredibly proud to share with our parents, students and staff that Al Yasmina Academy has now been rated ‘Outstanding’ in not just one – but across all six performance standards set by ADEK.

“This is a school community where students are not only producing excellent academic results but also seeing their personal growth soar. This achievement is testament to the values and mission of the Aldar Education family; centred on providing quality education in the best surroundings where students can realise their full potential and perform to the highest international standards.

41% of students are Emiratis.

“Al Yasmina Academy is one of an increasing number of Aldar Academies’ schools that have been recognised as ‘Outstanding’. This is a collaborative effort made by every one of our hardworking pupils, the tireless effort of our teaching body, partnership and communication with parents, and the overarching effort by our leadership team.”

Principal Jared Nolan said: “It is truly a privilege for Al Yasmina Academy to receive the rarely-awarded inspection judgement of ‘Outstanding’ by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge.

“In brief, this means that in every area of school life, our ‘quality of performance substantially exceeds the expectation of the UAE’.

“Staff have worked tirelessly to consistently deliver motivating lessons to ensure every learner at Al Yasmina Academy thrives. Leaders at all levels are skilled, have a very clear and innovative strategic vision for the Academy and have created an environment where excellence really is the norm. It is an amazing team and one that every member of our community should be very proud of.

“I would also like to take the time to recognise the part our wonderful Al Yasmina community has played in this success. Academic excellence, the highest standards in sport, students who are motivated, creative, ethical, and confident, are all shaped through the positive relationships we have with our community and the trust you have shown in this Academy.”

Al Yasmina Academy has employed 158 multi-national teaching staff.

ADEK Inspectors said the key area of strength of Al Yasmina Academy was the outstanding progress made by most students – in particular, the achievement of students in English and the sciences.

Furthermore, students’ personal and social development, their relationships with their peers and teachers and their attitudes to learning were also highlighted as a key strength area.

In additional, ADEK inspectors praised the Academy for the “very effective use of comprehensive and rigorous assessment processes which drive improvement throughout the school” and the “expertly planned and delivered curriculum which meets the needs of all groups of students”, according to the report. Managements approach to the protection, care, guidance and support of students and the leadership at all levels of the school were also highly commended.

Stephen Sharples, Director of Education at Aldar Education, commented:”We are immensely proud of Al Yasmina Academy’s ‘Outstanding’ status.  I am delighted that the hard work and commitment of our staff and pupils has been recognised with the ultimate educational accolade.”

Redefining the delivery of education, Aldar Education is committed to educating the whole child holistically and beyond the academic learning experience.
